landscape design & planning
Carrgate Design was formed in the mid-90s by two believers of the virtues of landscape architecture - the profession in which art and philosphy when combined with science and engineering hopefully, results in something interesting!
The idea of the business at the time was to simply provide answers to questions and solutions to problems, and that no project is to small or to big because every one is unique.
Needless to say, that other than being somewhat left field, experience over the years has taught us that like many other professions, landscape architects seldom work in isolation, and that most projects only come to fruition when a range of diverse interests are focused on the same goal.
And that's the way it should be...

Oiginally from New Zealand, Ed grew up the on the plains of Canterbury, a rich tapestry of farmland filled with a rich tapestry of pragmatists. Studying horticulture and later landscape architecture, involvement in a myriad of projects over the years has resulted in a simple philosophy.
The landscape is much more than physical elements - it's what makes us unique.
