landscape design & planning
Carrgate Design was formed in the mid-90s by two believers in the virtues of landscape architecture - a profession in which art and philosphy combined with science and engineering should, in theory, result in something interesting!
The idea of the business was to provide answers to questions and solutions to problems, and that no project is too small or too big as each is unique. Today that ideaology remains unchanged.

Needless to say, that other than being somewhat left field at times, experience over the years has taught us that like many other professions, landscape architects seldom work in isolation, and that most projects only come to fruition when a range of diverse interests focus on the same goal.
And that's the way it should be...

Oiginally from New Zealand, Ed grew up the on the plains of Canterbury, a rich tapestry of farmland filled with a rich tapestry of pragmatists. Studying horticulture and later landscape architecture, involvement in a myriad of projects over the years has resulted in a simple philosophy.
The landscape is much more than physical elements - it's what makes us unique.
